I am thrilled and privileged to be writing this post! Not only because this is my first big travel post after my recent trip to Italy but also because I was recently hosted by the five star hotel chain- Luna Hotel BaglioniLocated in Venice, Luna Baglioni is a member of the Leading Hotels of the World.

The Luna is only a 3 minute walk from the main centre of Venice i.e. just a stone’s throw away from Piazza San Marco. You will find yourself amongst some spectacular views  of Venice beginning from the entrance- that of Venice’s lagoon. With 91 modern rooms, this luxurious hotel is a dream in the floating city. It is filled with neat artwork, wood panelled ceilings and beautiful upholstery and is surely an artist’s paradise! I was literally gaping!

Another interesting fact that I got to know was that Luna Baglioni is a part of the 12th century Palazzo and its artwork speaks about the history it has been a part of. Yes, I can’t stop gushing about it because it is stunning in every corner!

After the check in I was ushered by the Hotel’s Manager- the very charming and accommodating, Gianmatteo Zampieri, and the Food & Beverage Consultant for Baglioni Milano- the lovely Rosita Dorigo. They had a fine aperitivo laid for me in the Hotel’s Bar. It was a good conversation about Venetian history and Indian dreams.

I learnt that Gianmatteo has a great passion for his city- Venice. He was very articulate about it and I could sense his love for the land. It was commendable Thank you for letting me know so much about your city, Signore and also for treating me like a VIP! Meanwhile, the gorgeous Rosita made me feel at home and it was her warmth that woed me. Rosita told me about the Baglioni chain of hotels in Italy and her passion for India and Italy which made it like a double celebration. Cin Cin! Grazie, cara.

Later, I was led on a magnificent tour of the hotel with its murano glass chandeliers and gold fixtures. My room in the opulent hotel was overlooking the lagoon. It was like an icing on my little Italian cake.

A bottle of prosecco awaited me in my room along with several berries dipped in chocolate. Oh so delicious! I felt like a star!
The room had a compact balcony with best views of the Royal Gardens of Venice. It was so exciting just to be sitting there in all that luxury. Every inch and corner of the hotel was beautifully done and a class apart.

They say a picture speaks a thousand words…. I will let you all decide.

I was so blown away by the luxury of the hotel and the Italian touch, it is commendable. But what most blew me away was the hospitality and the courteousness of the staff. They treat you like a friend as soon as you enter the premises and are there to make your stay comfortable and warm.

I am thankful to Baglioni for hosting me and to each and every person in the hotel who helped made my stay so comfortable, so lovely and so very Italian.
