My first book review for 2016 is “A Piece of You” by Daniel M. Annechino. The author’s fifth novel and the third in the Homicide Detective Sami Rizzo series.
I enjoyed reading the book but I felt the story was a little too complex and there was too much blood. Although Mr. Annechino’s passion for thrillers is evident in this novel, it is a typical police protocol novel.
The novel was full of twists but I could predict a lot of things. If you read a lot of thrillers you may not be very impressed. I also somehow didn’t end up liking Sami (the main character) too much. I know people who have read could think differently on it.
There were small editing errors in the book and that was the one of the first things I noticed while reading. Daniel has definitely done a lot of work in it but maybe a little bit of editing could have helped here. I would like to read his other books to change my opinion. Overall the plot of the book deserves 3/5.
