From Murano to India with Ikroop

Do you believe we are meant to meet people for a reason?? So far, many people have come and gone in my life, but there have been some that I know came for a very solid reason. From Murano to India, I met Ikroop Dhillon, the owner and curator of the Glass Art Jewellery brand Ikroop. She is inspired by the beautiful island of Murano in Venice and creates beautiful art jewelry in India.

From Murano to India with Ikroop

Glass Art Jewelry by Ikroop Dhillion is a unique Indian brand. Most of the collection is inspired from Ikroop’s travels in Murano in Italy where she saw beautiful art being created from blown glass.

It was so lovely to meet Ikroop with whom I chatted about India, Italy and everything in between. She spoke about Murano and how it is renowed globally for producing exceptional and highly expensive glassware.

Ikroop: I picked this for myself.

Glass Art Jewelry by Ikroop

After working with the famous glass artist Atul Bakshi, Ikroop gained considerable knowledge of the process of glass making. She realized her forte and started making minimalist glass art jewelery. Ikroop’s collection is versatile and classy and is certainly unique.

There are various colors fused together to create pendants, rings, earrings and neck pieces. I felt that there is something for everyone and I even picked up a beautiful pendant that can be worn for both any kind of event whether a party or a business meeting.

The lovely Ikroop

Unique Jewelery in India

It isn’t common to own glass jewelry in India (as opposed to Italy). However, I hope that with brands such as Ikroop, there is diversification in a woman’s collection.

All in all, it was fun knowing Ikroop’s story and brand. I would have never imagined meeting a fellow Italophilie living only 7 kms from my house! Check Ikroop’s glassware business featured in the Verve magazine

Thank You Italy for another fabulous connection!

Very nice, Ishita. And yes, it’s a small world. You never know who’s right around the corner. I recently joined a “meet up” group here in Las Vegas called “Parliamo Italiano,” and while everyone doesn’t speak Italian, it’s amazing how many actually do and they’re all Italophiles!

Thank you for letting me know. It should have been posted right away as only messages of non-subscribers are held back for moderation, but somehow it made its way into the trash folder, but I found and restored it! Thanks for your support.
