Tuscany is synonymous to endless wine tastings, small hill top towns and tall cypress trees. But there’s so much more to it. Tuscan Dreams of Montestigliano was born out of the love and hospitality of the people of Montestigliano- a tiny hamlet in the region.

In the past years of my travel in Italy, I have visited the most popular tourist destinations in Tuscany namely- Florence, Fiesole, Siena, San Gimignano and Monteriggioni. To be honest, I had not really spent enough time in the countryside so it was difficult to describe the oomph factor about staying there. Everyone raved about it, so I was more curious. So I reached out to Luisa- one of the owners of Montestigliano and I ended up staying there for 3 nights. I also visited their adjoining luxury property, Villa Pipistrelli.
Where is Montestigliano??
Montestigliano is a little hamlet on top of a hill with a view of the gorgeous Tuscan countryside. The entire hamlet is owned by the Donati family and divided into different homes and apartments, each named after a family member.
This hill top luxury resort also offers swimming pools and recreation areas and also includes a private chapel, an olive oil brand and a personal vineyard.
In addition to this, the property is located at a strategic location from Siena, Florence and Pienza and is therefore very popular, even for weddings!
Montestigliano is a relaxing place away from the hustle and bustle of bigger towns. It is also a perfect base for trips to parts of Val d’Orcia and Siena!

Why Should You Book Montestigliano??
Montestigliano is DREAMY and SPECTACULAR!
There are no words that could do justice to describe this area of Tuscany. Even in the foggy winter, I felt there was a different charm to the property. But what makes it different from the other Tuscan villas is the warmth of the service and the Donati family. Luisa Donati along with her entire family are superb hosts. I also thank Francesco for the incredible service he offered to me while I was there. Right from the breakfast in the morning to the evening aperitivo, everything was par excellence.
They have different villas and apartments named after each of the siblings/owners such as Casa Emilio, Casa Luisa, Casa Marta, Casa Massimo, Casa Ropoli. The interiors and exteriors are par excellence and it is hard not to fall in love with the space and surroundings.
I stayed in Casa Emilio and was so cozy throughout the night. It is such a perfect place to be whether you’re traveling solo or with family and friends. Some of the highlights of the interiors of Montestigliano can be seen below:

We were fortunate to stay in a town called Cortana, which was made famous by the book and movie Under the Tuscan Sun. Not a huge amount of tourists though, and incredibly beautiful. I do love your posts, they always transport me.
