Room with a view

Waking to this view at Asso’s place is surreal and breathtaking. It is almost dreamy! It is comfortable being in the centre of the city yet being in a quiet apartment building.

The bells chimed in the Duomo every hour and I had my own quiet moment, just me and the Duomo. Florence’s Duomo is seriously the answer to sore eyes and heart.

An extraordinary experience

The hospitality at Asso’s Place is par excellence. I was welcomed with bottle of prosecco by the owner Piero Asso. For my breakfast he also left me milk, cake and biscuits. There was a couch in the living room where I could relax with a view and a library of hand picked books by Piero himself. Asso’s Place is the best!

Truly looks like an amazing place and of course, the view is amazing. As a solo traveler probably wouldn’t book it any time soon but I’m definitely going to save it, for a romantic trip with my boyfriend in the future.

Wow! The cupola looks so big when it’s framed by the window like that. Well, I suppose it IS big. Actually, for two couples it’s not really expensive at all. For the solo traveler, definitely way out of my price range.

I was thinking of Florence before I decided to go to Turin. At that time I was thinking of a place not that famous or the usual tourist destination so Turin it is. I hope to see Florence next time! Your photos looks beautiful and nice to laze around.

Thank you dear 🙂 Both are such different cities and so great. Turin is definitely a hidden gem and not as famous though.

Wowee–that’s a great view. When we were in Florence we were going to the cheap and not-horrible route, but the if I ever go back I’d definitely like to stay a bit closer to the center of it all. And with a view like that, who could complain?

Exactly!! I think spending a little extra never hurts with views like that and being in the centre 😉

although we have stayed plenty of times in rented apartments when in Florence, I never heard of this place before. Is it new? Also maybe you could mention the price of a rental. Glad you had such a lovely time there.

The rates depend on the season hence I did not mention. It should be around EUR 220-240 per night currently. Thanks!:)

Thanks for the RT love, Lorelle 🙂 It is perfect especially when you are a 2 people or more. For a single person it might get costlier.

Wow, that really is an amazing view of the Duomo. Alas, when I visited Florence, we stayed in a side street near the train station with a view of a brick wall. Maybe next time…:)
