What a beautiful post, Ishita! I’ve always loved the quote by Erica Jong and I think there’s a lot of truth to it. You know how critic of Italy I am sometimes, but among the good sides of my country I definitely list this “permission of being human”, which I don’t find in many other countries.

Loving the quote of Wallis Wilde as well, I didn’t know it! Thanks for sharing!

Especially this one which made me almost cry right now, so true it is: "What is the fatal charm of Italy? What do we find there that can be found nowhere else? I believe it is a certain permission to be human, which other places, other countries, lost long ago." Erica Jong nailed it. Thank you for this, Ishita!!
